Heaven's Hammers
Logline: Three angels, Heaven’s front-line fighters, are tasked with leaving paradise behind to kick in the teeth of the Devil’s minions as darkness gathers and mankind’s fate dangles in the balance.
The Series:
On their first real assignment, Halam, Ir, and Lagon, an angelic ternion (a set or group of three) stumble into an evil plot far larger than they could have ever realized. What they assume is only a simple mission to investigate the unusual disappearance of their mentor and former instructor, Avigdor, rapidly spins out of control into a diabolical conspiracy that threatens the Foundation Stones of Heaven itself!
Setting:
Set against the backdrop of the Wyrdwar (the ever-raging battle of good vs. evil), Heaven’s Hammers takes place in our world as we know it but is also overlaid with the spiritual realm as referenced in Scripture. Angelic forces exist in all their known hierarchy (Dominions, Principalities, Thrones, Virtues, and Powers) as do their fallen counterparts. Our heroes, being immortal, fight battles against darkness both in the Mortal Realm and in the Spiritual, and their stories span across all of history, from the time of the literal Fall of Man to the current day. Endless adventures await!
Style:
High-action, fast-paced and striking, Heaven’s Hammers will celebrate the classic comic art-form to the utmost. Rules: As a series primarily about spiritual warfare, a strong emphasis will be placed on angels kicking some pointy-tailed demon butt. Scripture will definitely be used (after all, who better to drop scripture one-liners than angels) but preaching will not be the solitary purpose. While Christian messages and themes will ABSOLUTELY be present, the first goal is to take the reader on an action-packed, fights-filled adventure in each issue.
- Nothing that contradicts scripture. While we might play around in-between the lines, we will be careful to never directly contradict God’s Word.
- Good is Good and Bad is Bad. There will be none of this “viewing things from the villain’s slightly skewed and somehow moralized perspective” business.
- Good wins. Always. Unless we’re using it as a vehicle to draw out tension (i.e. a cliff hanger, “season finale,” etc), good is always going to win by the end.
- No romance. Given our target demographic and our strong focus on spiritual warfare, there’ll be no need (or time for) angels smooching with other angels.
Nutshell: A Christian Avengers Prime or DC Trinity.
Target Demographic: Ages 10-12, both boys and girls.
Tagline: Bring the hammers down!
Format: Three 28-page comics.
Primary Theme: Spiritual Warfare. Angels fighting demons for the protection and the good of mankind.
